Meagan M. McGurl is an Associate Attorney at Keefe Law Firm, where she practices personal injury litigation and environmental law. She brings to the firm substantial courtroom experience, extensive client advocacy, and a strong commitment to serving individuals who have been injured or wronged.
Meagan earned her Juris Doctor cum laude from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 2022. While in law school, she was a member of the Florida Law Review, served as a Levin Ambassador, and was a recipient of the Governor’s Scholarship and a Pro Bono Service Award.
She received her undergraduate degree magna cum laude from Lafayette College in 2019, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Law and International Affairs and a minor in Spanish. At Lafayette, she was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa, Sigma Iota Rho, and Pi Sigma Alpha honor societies, and was a student athlete on the school’s Division I Women’s Soccer Team.
Prior to joining Keefe Law Firm, Meagan served as an Assistant Public Defender in both Florida and New Jersey. She began her legal career with the Office of the Public Defender in the 4th Judicial Circuit in Jacksonville, Florida, where she represented clients in county and circuit court proceedings.
She later continued her public defense work with the Office of the Public Defender in Essex County, New Jersey, where she represented clients in pre- and post-indictment proceedings, including hearings and trials. During her time as a public defender, Meagan secured multiple not guilty verdicts and favorable plea agreements for her clients.
Meagan’s years in the courtroom have provided her with meaningful trial experience and a strong foundation in advocacy. She is a direct and effective communicator who takes a hands-on approach to representation, ensuring that her clients understand the status of their cases and feel supported throughout the legal process. Fluent in Spanish, she is able to effectively communicate with and assist Spanish-speaking clients.
Meagan chose to pursue a career in law in order to help and advocate for those who have been injured or wronged. Drawn to personal injury practice, she is motivated by the opportunity to continue serving individuals during some of the most difficult periods of their lives. She joined Keefe Law Firm because of its commitment to ensuring that every client feels heard, supported, and diligently represented. She is dedicated to advancing the firm’s mission by providing attentive, thorough, and compassionate advocacy to each client she serves.
Originally from Fair Haven, New Jersey, Meagan enjoys running, reading, cheering on the Florida Gators, and spending time at the beach.
